This version of the Manual doesn't include any Guide for dismantling procedure before making the electrical wiring: in other words, the Standard Edition of this Manual needs further Guides (as "Guide to Remove Completely the SAM Unit", "Guide to Remove the External Door Panel", etc.), avaiable separately, to remove all the parts before making the installation itself.

This Manual is Unique. It's not avaiable anywhere all over the world !!! A MUST for every owner of Smart Roadster & Roadster Coupé. HERE ARE some PICTURES and DRAWINGS (in low resolution for functional reasons) to UNDERSTAND better WHAT YOU GET: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

I made this upgrade on my own roadster in January 2008 !!! I took a lot of pictures with the precise purpose to make a Manual. I made the italian version in late 2009, and now It's avaiable completely in English (BOTH for LHD and RHD models) !!! The MANUAL HAS BEEN MADE allowing to EVERYONE to RETROFIT the Smart gmbh electrical and heated wing mirrors EXACTLY as a factory fitted option (FFO), that's EXACTLY as the FACTORY would make: NO parallel WIRING !!! JUST THE GENUINE FACTORY WIRING LAYOUT, that WILL not AFFECT on your SAM Unit: NONE Mercedes Benz tech engineer will DISCOVER the difference between your RETROFITTING INSTALLATION and the FACTORY-MADE one: no way !!!

KEEP in MIND: I suggest you to do this upgrade for 2 main reasons: First of all, you will FIX/avoid forever the ICE/CONDENSATION on the (wing) mirrors during the winter (or in the summer nights with high humidity); secondly, you will fix/avoid forever the annoying problem about the breaking of the MANUAL wing mirror adjusting lever. The reasons to do this upgrade are much more (for instance, the remote control of each wing mirror without STRETCHING your body to reach the passenger's side; the possibility to change fastly the inclination of the mirror to park your car near a pavement/sidewalk without damage/scratch your alloy rims; etc..). This is my point of view according to my experience: the choice is yours !!!

ONE MORE THING (just to shut up the usual odd people): don't rant/complaint about the price ... keeping in mind, on the contrary, the REAL "expensive" RUBBISH/STUFF I see (and read) everyday SOLD on the NET and BOUGHT from many smart roadster owners to TUNE/UPGRADE their car !!! Last but not least ... don't try to compare my Guides/Manuals (price, explanations, etc.) to the Haynes ones ... cause this comparison is simply superficial and stupid ... especially IF you HAVE NEVER SEEN any of my Manuals/Guides ;-) !!!

Periodically upgraded with high resolution pictures and topics: 1st UPGRADE (september 2008), 2nd UPGRADE (September 2009), 3rd UPGRADE (July 2012) !!! THE "OFFICIAL SMART ROADSTER LEAK GUIDE", made by Smart Gmbh in 2003 and ILLEGALLY AVAILABLE on the Net is PURE RUBBISH COMPARED to MY MANUAL. MY MANUAL WAS DESIGNED by DIRECT EXPERIENCE-STUDY and IT WORKS. On the contrary, the "Official Leak Guide" is only a PALE ATTEMPT to FIND A SOLUTION... It doesn't work and the websites that host it ... never spent a single day to try what I have done in 10 years ! They just GRAB material from everywhere and throw it in the same pot... and so they illude people that "they are skilled on smart roadster". Pure fake-professionals :) !!!

GUIDE to REMOVE COMPLETELY the SAM Unit (March 2008). GUIDE to REMOVE the SWITCH PANEL (March 2008). VERY IMPORTANT INFO before BUYING THIS MANUAL: THIS MANUAL DESCRIBES VERY CAREFULLY THE WHOLE PROCEDURE FOR INSTALLING/RETROFITTING the Original Smart Roadster FOGLIGHTS USING a NEW PARALLEL WIRING THAT will not affect on the Factory one !!! You will need a particular relay, different from the factory one, to do that. You can buy this particular relay in the "market section". KEEP in MIND that THIS MANUAL IS NOT for the roadster models with the RAIN/LIGHT SENSOR fitted by FACTORY !!! If you want to retrofit the foglights exactly as FFO (Factory Fitted Option), that's interfaced with the SAM Unit, you have to buy my "Foglights OEM Retrofitting Kit", available here !!!
